I’m sitting in a hotel room with the spouse. We’re in the top floor and across from the elevator is ‘art’. When I looked at it, I commented that it was … interesting. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for interesting interpretations of art, but this hanging is … different.
The spouse just rolled their eyes and said we had different definitions of art.
I argued that someone created it, someone else bought it, and a third person hung it. This is where we disagreed. “It was bought as a ‘fill the halls with … something!” To which I said, exactly! Art.
I tell you, this hanging is special, and not in any good kind of way.
It does lead to conversations, and maybe that’s all that is needed for some art to be considered worthy.
Is it worth putting a whole hotel scene in a book just to recreate this discussion?
Too bad the alien series is complete. It would’ve been great in that world. Right up there with the Vegemite arguments!
Okay, let’s start this off right. I’m going to offer a free eBook of Royal By Design if you tell me, what character is most likely to think the weirdest wall hanging would be considered art.
On a separate note, the last of the alien books comes out in a month, if anyone wants to join the ARC for Galaxy Revisited, fill in this form. https://forms.gle/weWebeBuM8oQ2zhw5 The eBooks will go out some time next week.

Anyway, if you are in one of the many many places with cold or miserable weather, stay safe!
